Fiona-Lee has unveiled her new single ‘Not My Friends’ ahead of her upcoming UK headline tour in April.
This release also comes ahead of her second EP ‘Every Woman’, set to arrive on 17th April via Gravity / Capitol Records. The track benefits from the production of Thom Lewis, known for his work with Sam Fender.
“Not My Friends is about trying to fill an emotional void at any cost to avoid feeling alone,” she says. “It came from a time when I was investing in the wrong relationships with the wrong people and accepting less than I deserved because of the ‘something is better than nothing’ mindset. That fear of loneliness can be a hard cycle to break, even when you’re fully aware of it. At its heart, Not My Friends is about self-awareness, recognising misplaced attachments, and having self compassion for when you fall back into those habits.”
