Iceage have returned with their new single ‘Star’, released via Mexican Summer alongside a video directed by Thinh T. Petrus Nguyen.
The track marks the first new music from the Danish band since their 2021 album ‘Seek Shelter’. The group – vocalist Elias Rønnenfelt, guitarists Johan Suurballe Wieth and Casper Morilla Fernandez, drummer Dan Kjær Nielsen and bassist Jakob Tvilling Pless – have released five studio albums over the course of their 18-year career.
Described as a love song, ‘Star’ features handclaps, jangling guitar lines and shifting dynamics. Rønnenfelt’s lyrics explore themes of intensity and collapse, imagery that has long appeared throughout Iceage’s songwriting.
Iceage are scheduled to perform live on 14th August in Copenhagen, Denmark at Syd For Solen.
