Alt-pop duo SISTRA have released their new single ‘Things I Really Mean’. It’s their first new music since the 2024 EP ‘Between My Shoulder Blades’, and is produced by Jon Shave, known for his work with Charli XCX.
The track premiered on Jess Iszatt’s BBC Radio 1 show and represents a shift for the duo, venturing into avant-pop, art-pop, and hyper-pop aesthetics.
The duo’s Sasha Briggs explains: “‘Things I Really Mean’ is essentially my sister telling me how she fell in love for the first time. We’ve always written for and about each other, but this song feels more confronting. We’re venturing beyond the safety of our relationship as sisters, and we don’t know what that looks like. There’s a danger we might not be able to let each other go.”
SISTRA, comprised of sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs, have been included in The Great Escape’s First 50 and are set to perform at OSLO in London on 13th November, as well as at the main festival in Brighton from 13th to 16th May 2026.
