better joy – at dusk EP

Label:
Released: 31st October 2025

better joy’s new EP ‘at dusk’ marks a shift as Bria Keely brings more reflection, more bite and a stronger sense of emotional detail to the table. These are songs that tell stories, built for singing in bedrooms and belting in fields.

‘this part of town’ opens with a rush of energy and possibility. “You’re my siren song,” she sings, stepping into the unknown with optimism and spark. ‘steamroller’ zooms in on emotional overwhelm. It’s about being knocked flat by someone, but the delivery feels solid and self-assured. “I never showed you the heavy metal in my bones” is a proper belter of a lyric.

‘plugged in’ leans into brightness and longing, uplifting and vocally rich. ‘i’m there’ softens the pace, tracing uncertainty in the aftermath of something once certain. ‘big thief’ is a clear highlight – sharp, cathartic and slightly unbothered. “Stole my joy, my sanity,” she sings, already halfway out the door. The closer ‘so long’ slows things down but keeps the emotion sharp, a parting shot with softness at its core.

There’s a confidence running through ‘at dusk’. The EP is open, honest, and built on strong melodies and vivid detail, as better joy captures moments of heartbreak and clarity without ever sounding weighed down. She’s telling stories that feel universal, and she’s making them sing.
