Fitzroy Holt has unveiled his new single ‘Around the Wrekin’, marking the announcement of his debut album of the same name next March via Gary Powell‘s 25 Hour Convenience Store label.
The singer-songwriter, hailing from Wolverhampton, named the project after a Midlands phrase meaning “the long way round”.
“These are songs first sketched when I was a teenager to more recent work written during the intensity of touring,” Holt explains. “The album circles through my childhood, heritage, addiction and love. The record mirrors that circle, shifting between stripped-down storytelling and walls of distortion, never allowing the listener to settle.”
Holt has shared stages with notable artists such as Jake Bugg, Pete Doherty, and The Libertines.
