Reem Mitten has released latest single, ‘What The Hell’, following her recent release, ‘Back To The Start Of It’.
Emerging from North-West London’s music scene, Reem has previously shared stages with the likes of Bill Ryder-Jones and Swim Deep, while collaborating with producers and artists such as Dave McCracken and Luis Felber.
“I want ‘What the Hell’ to be a song listeners can interpret for themselves,” she explains. “It’s shaped to fit any kind of relationship, and I think of it as the ‘younger sister’ to ‘Back to the Start of it’ – a reflection of knowing exactly what you’re walking back into, yet still hoping for something different.
“With its hook – ‘What the hell, maybe we’re out of love, maybe we’re out of touch, maybe it was nothing at all’ – I tried to capture the pain of disconnect. And in lines like ‘Call me back to when I was 17… why is everything so heavy?’ I’m echoing nostalgia, emotional weight, and the longing for a silver lining.
“To me, ‘What the Hell’ lives in that hot spot where memories, hope, and reality collide – an anthem for anyone who’s ever wished for change but felt history repeat itself.”
