Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ has inspired a Sound & Vision 2025 art fundraising event

Kate Bush and Art on a Postcard have teamed up to invite 52 artists to create artworks inspired by her song ‘Running Up That Hill’, contributing to the Sound & Vision 2025 fundraising event.

This initiative aims to support War Child, a charity dedicated to aiding children affected by conflict. The artworks will be available for bidding starting from £100.

The auction, set to take place online from 28th October to 13th November via Givergy, will feature works from notable artists including Maggi Hambling CBE, Peter Doig, and Corbin Shaw. These artists have drawn inspiration from the lyric, “If I only could, I’d make a deal with God,” which was personally selected by Kate Bush. The event coincides with the 40th anniversary of ‘Running Up That Hill’ and the ‘Hounds of Love’ album.

Kate Bush comments, “All wars leave horrific scars; ruined lives, families ripped apart, life-changing injuries, trauma, and loss on a massive scale – but it’s the children who suffer the most in so many ways. Their past, present and future melt away into fear and uncertainty. It is more important than ever we support War Child and their invaluable work providing immediate aid to children caught in conflict all over the world including in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, and Syria. Projects like Sound & Vision harness the power of art and music to make a real difference to children living through war. Thank you for supporting this project.”

The Sound & Vision 2025 exhibition will be held at Iconic Images Gallery from 4th to 8th November.
