BENEE has unveiled her new single ‘Underwater’

BENEE has released a new track titled ‘Underwater’ from her forthcoming album ‘Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles’.

The New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based artist’s second album also features previous singles including ‘Cinnamon’, ‘Off The Rails’, ‘Animal’ and ‘Sad Boiii’.

Discussing ‘Underwater’, BENEE says, “I wrote ‘Underwater’ about that disconnect between how effortless you seem and how heavy you really feel. I think a lot of people will recognise themselves in that.”

BENEE describes ‘Ur An Angel I’m Just Particles’ as “a deep dive into existential dread, where love, identity, and meaning slip through your fingers like sand.” She adds, “There’s a restless urgency here, a longing to escape yet nowhere to run, as the lines blur between self-destruction and survival, euphoria and emptiness.”

To mark the release, BENEE will perform a headline show at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles, where she will debut new songs from the album.

Earlier this year, BENEE toured with Tate McRae on the “Miss Possessive Tour” across Europe and the UK. She also recorded a cover of New Radicals’ ‘You Get What You Give’ for the 2025 MTV VMAs.
