Jenny On Holiday has shared her debut solo single, ‘Every Ounce Of Me’, via Transgressive Records. The new project from Jenny Hollingworth – known as one half of alt-pop duo Let’s Eat Grandma – arrives alongside a video.
Written during quiet summers in Norwich and completed in London with producer Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Nell Mescal), the track introduces Hollingworth’s solo direction, drawing on direct storytelling and pop classicism.
“‘Every Ounce of Me’ was inspired by singing dramatic, fun, 80s love songs at karaoke with my friends. I wanted to write something of my own I could imagine in that setting. It’s a song about not being able to help falling for someone despite your reservations about love and trying your hardest not to,” says Jenny Hollingworth.
Her cited touchpoints include Prefab Sprout, The Beach Boys, Kate Bush, The Replacements, Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner. “My voice is the instrument I enjoy expressing myself most on,” she says.
Hollingworth and Rosa Walton signed to Transgressive Records aged 16 as Let’s Eat Grandma, releasing debut album ‘I, Gemini’ in 2016, followed by 2018’s ‘I’m All Ears’ and 2022’s ‘Two Ribbons’.
