The 2025 Mercury Prize ‘Albums of the Year’ shortlist was announced live on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds this morning (Wednesday 10th September), alongside a red carpet event at The Langham Hotel in London.
Artists in the running include current and former Dork cover stars CMAT, Fontaines D.C., Sam Fender and previous winners Wolf Alice, as well as FKA twigs, PinkPantheress, Pulp and more.
The Mercury Prize recently announced Newcastle Upon Tyne as its host city for 2025, marking the first time the awards ceremony will take place outside of London.
The event will be held at the Utilita Arena, Newcastle on 16th October, featuring live performances from many of the shortlisted artists before revealing the overall winner.
