CATTY has released a new single, ‘4am (Back in His Bed)’, previewing a forthcoming project due this autumn and following recent tracks ‘Joyride’ and ‘Prized Possession’.
Described as a late-night confessional built on pulsing drums and brooding synths, the track leans into darker pop-rock territory while foregrounding CATTY’s vocal. It arrives via AWAL and accompanies a run of autumn live dates, including a Dork’s Halloween bash at London’s Colours.
Speaking about the song, CATTY said, “I wrote 4am about being someone’s little play thing while she figured out if she liked her boyfriend or not. I’ve since realised this may be bit of a lesbian right of passage. Why have so many of us experienced this? And why does it make us feel good about ourselves to hear “I don’t like women but I like you.” It made me feel ten feet tall before it made me feel like the smallest person in the world. I’ve worked on my self esteem a lot since this happened but I still feel sad that I was ok with only being wanted sometimes – I never want to be that person again. It is actually such a sad song if you ignore the lyric “eating me out when you’ve got food at home” which is hilarious.”
The single follows the 2024 debut EP ‘Healing Out Of Spite’.
CATTY will play Reeperbahn Festival, Sŵn Festival, Live at Leeds in the City and more in the coming months, with a headline at Colours, London on 30th October.
