Hotel Lux have shared a new single, ‘Nod (To The Retrospect)’, taken from their second album ‘The Bitter Cup’, which is due on 14th November.
The release – which they describe as, “Not a love song per se, but a tribute to those early days. A tale of hindsight, a nod to the retrospect” – follows the Portsmouth-formed band’s 2023 debut ‘Hands Across The Creek’.
On ‘The Bitter Cup’, the band self-produced at Big Jelly Studios, writing collaboratively and recording live to capture the immediacy of their shows. “Something that felt completely natural, but also entirely necessary”, guitarist Sam Coburn explains. “If you can’t trust yourselves, who can you?” guitarist Max Oliver adds.
The tracklisting for ‘The Bitter Cup’ reads:
‘Encore’
‘Bitter Cup’
‘The Fear’
‘Joy’
‘Hand Of Mine’
‘Costermonger’
‘Song For John Healy’
‘Another One Gone’
‘Evelyn’
‘Nod (To The Retrospect)’
