Folk Bitch Trio have shared new single ‘Hotel TV’, the final preview of their debut album ‘Now Would Be A Good Time’, set for release this Friday via Jagjaguwar.
The Melbourne/Naarm-based trio – comprising Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle – have crafted a track that continues the album’s exploration of relationship endings.
“‘Hotel TV’ is about having a sex dream about somebody else while next to your partner, and your partner being a liar,” Pilkington explains. Of the accompanying video, they add: “Our vibe check for the music video was dire country town, bored and cheeky, loosely inspired by both our childhoods and what we’ve had to do for fun touring regional Australia.”
The album was recorded in Auckland with Tom Healy during winter 2024, with the band taking a minimalist approach to arrangements and recording to tape.
Folk Bitch Trio are set to return to the UK this summer for a series of headline shows and festival appearances. The dates in full read:
