YUNGBLUD has released a live version of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’, recorded during Black Sabbath’s farewell concert at Villa Park.
The track, titled ‘Changes – (Live from Villa Park) Back to the Beginning’, features collaborations with Nuno Bettencourt, ii, Frank Bello, and Adam Wakeman. The performance was captured at the ‘Back to the Beginning’ event on 5th July, where YUNGBLUD performed in front of 40,000 fans at Black Sabbath’s home stadium.
All proceeds from the single will support Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
“This was hands down the biggest moment of my entire life. I got to stand on stage and honour one of my heroes, and the fact that it has touched so many is truly overwhelming,” YUNGBLUD says. “The best part about this release is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalise it on tape, release it and donate all the money to such important causes in Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice. This is what Rock and roll is about. Stream it, buy it, add it to your playlist – let’s raise some f*cking money.”
The performance has received praise from Ozzy Osbourne himself, who stated: “He did an amazing job. I couldn’t have done it better myself.”
The farewell concert, which has become the highest-grossing charity concert of all time, featured performances from Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, and included guest appearances from The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine served as Musical Director for the event.
Mercury Studios have announced that a feature-length concert film, ‘Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow’, will arrive in theatres in early 2026.
