Robbie Williams has released new single ‘Spies’, alongside announcing the full tracklisting for his upcoming album ‘BRITPOP’.
The track was written by Williams alongside collaborators Karl Brazil and Owen Parker. It marks the second single to be shared from ‘BRITPOP’, following previously released track ‘Rocket’.
“I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music,” Williams says. “The new record is raw, there are more guitars and it’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album.”
The album’s artwork features a painting inspired by Williams’ red tracksuit outfit worn at Glastonbury Festival in 1995. The record will be available in multiple formats, including CD, deluxe CD, cassette, alt cassette and digital versions.
Williams was recently appointed as the Official FIFA Music Ambassador, writing and recording the first Official FIFA anthem ‘Desire’ alongside Brazil, Parker, and Erik Jan Grob. The track, featuring Italian artist Laura Pausini, premiered at the FIFA Club World Cup™ opening match and will be used across all FIFA tournaments moving forward.
