Sigrid has released new single ‘Jellyfish’, marking a fresh chapter for the Norwegian pop artist.
The track, released via Island/EMI, sees Sigrid exploring a more carefree direction, drawing inspiration from early 2000s indie sounds and the music she grew up with. Co-written and co-produced with longtime collaborator Askjell Solstrand, who previously worked on her breakthrough track ‘Dynamite’, the single emerged from a period of creative reset in 2024.
“It’s my slightly more free-spirited and joyous side,” Sigrid says of ‘Jellyfish’. “I wanted it to feel easy — like a Scandinavian summer. Flirting can feel so chaotic and stupid, but that’s the best part of it.”
“I love using my voice as a vessel to pour my heart out,” she continues, “but on this song, I wanted it to sound carefree, joyful and playful – maybe a bit nonchalant.”
The release follows Sigrid’s previous albums ‘Sucker Punch’ and ‘How to Let Go’, which reached number 5 and number 3 in the charts respectively. The artist recently performed a secret show at Oslo in London, where she played new material alongside established tracks ‘Strangers’ and ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’.
