Addison Rae’s debut project is – no shock, really – an absolute sugar rush. ‘Addison’ is slick, self-aware pop with a gloriously glossy centre; all fizzy choruses, high-drama synths, and Y2K sparkle. It’s what you get when someone raised on Britney, Tumblr gifs and reality TV turns all of that into a nuclear bath bomb.
This is pop that understands the assignment. ‘Diet Pepsi’ is pure summer heatwave: breezy, fizzy, and stuck in your head before you’ve even finished it. ‘High Fashion’ struts like it owns a Paris runway, and ‘Fame Is a Gun’ delivers bubblegum melodrama with a lethal wink.
Rae’s secret weapon? She’s in on the joke. She’s not here to reinvent the wheel, just to spin it in diamanté heels while lip-syncing into a Hello Kitty mirror. Nostalgic, hooky and unreasonably fun, ‘Addison’ proves she’s more than a TikTok star. She’s a full-blown pop girlie.
