Wet Leg have revealed ‘davina mccall’, the third track from their upcoming second album ‘moisturizer’.
The new single is a soft, lovelorn ballad that draws inspiration from Big Brother and Shakira, accompanied by a stop-motion animated video directed by Chris Hopewell. The visual features the band as clay figures searching for a feather-stealing goblin, connecting thematically to their previous ‘CPR’ video.
The track showcases the band’s evolving collaborative process, with Hester Chambers initiating the song alongside Ellis Durand, while Rhian Teasdale contributed lyrics and melody. “Ellis and I were on the edge of our seats being like, ‘We’re gonna get this, we’re completing the puzzle’,” says Chambers.
The band, now comprising Teasdale, Chambers, Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth), have also announced a 7″ single featuring ‘CPR’ and ‘davina mccall’, set for release on 11th July.
