Westside Cowboy have announced their debut EP ‘This Better Be Something Great’

Manchester quartet Westside Cowboy are set to release their debut EP ‘This Better Be Something Great’ on 8th August via Nice Swan Recordings and Heist or Hit, alongside sharing new single ‘Alright Alright Alright’.

The new track, produced by English Teacher’s Lewis Whiting, comes as the group prepare for their Glastonbury Festival appearances, where they will open the Woodsies stage on 29th June as winners of the Emerging Talent Competition.

“This song was the first original thing we ever played as a band, before we had any real ambition for the project to reach the ears of anyone outside of that room,” the band say. “It is a punk song about a cowboy, and if anyone can take away any more from it than that, consider us impressed.”

The four-piece, comprising Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell, and Paddy Murphy, began as informal sessions in Murphy’s bedroom. Their sound combines lo-fi alternative rock with elements of country and traditional rock and roll, which they have dubbed ‘Britainicana’.
