Cliffords have dropped their new single ‘My Favourite Monster’

Cliffords have shared new single ‘My Favourite Monster’, taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Salt of the Lee’.

The Cork band’s new EP will arrive via Soil To The Sun on 30th May, following their previously released tracks ‘Dungarvan Bay’ and ‘Bittersweet’. The new release marks their first collaboration with producer Richie Kennedy at London’s Battery Studios, following their self-financed and self-released debut tracks last year.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Iona Lynch says, “My Favourite Monster I describe as a love song to someone you don’t like but feel drawn to. I wrote it about someone I know in Cork that I would always stop and talk to even though I know they don’t like me and I don’t like them. I was reading Frankenstein at the same time and thought it would be fun to make parallels between me and this guy, and Frankenstein and his monster. Lots of the reasons I didn’t like this guy were also traits I saw in myself, so I wanted this to be a love letter to someone who I don’t get on with and never will get on with, but I think in some way we understand each other.”

The band have recently completed their first UK headline tour and are set to perform at various festivals across the UK and Europe.
