Fontaines D.C. have performed ‘Before You I Just Forget’ live for the first time during their final North American show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
The track, which appears on the deluxe edition of ‘Romance’, made its debut during the band’s closing performance on 18th May. The deluxe version of their fourth studio album was released on 16th April, featuring additional material including a stripped-back live version of ‘Starburster’ incorporating David Lynch’s ‘In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)’.
The band’s Conor Culrey discusses the new track, saying: “‘Before You I Just Forget’ is a song that started with a vision of this really blown out sound, something that heaved and shifted with new details becoming apparent every time you would listen. Like never being able to step in the same river twice, the song morphs and changes, finishing with an incredible string part by Grian.”
The band are set to perform several headline shows across the UK and Europe, including Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields with Kneecap, and additional performances at Finsbury Park, London and Wythenshawe Park, Manchester.
