Tommy WÁ has signed to Dirty Hit, with the label set to reissue his 2023 EP ‘Roadman & Folks’. The Ghana-based, Nigerian-born artist has also shared a new video for EP track ‘YAKOYO’.
The seven-track EP showcases WÁ’s blend of folk, soul and indie music, featuring songs including ‘Dumb Luck’, ‘Gravity’, ‘Come & Go’, ‘Sons of Beaches’, ‘Late Night on Lokko Street’, and ‘Flowers’.
“The EP is a collection of intersecting experiences of romantic longings, the art of survival and the pursuit of happiness expressed through the lives of my immediate community and me,” WÁ explains. “A signing with Dirty Hit offers me the unique opportunity to make a valuable contribution through music that highlights African contemporary realities that should transcend the local scene and can inform global cultures. It attempts to encourage cohesiveness and hope across various communities, both home and abroad.”
