Erin LeCount – I Am Digital, I Am Divine

Label: Good As Gold Records
Released: 23rd April 2025

Erin LeCount’s debut EP, ‘I Am Digital, I Am Divine’ finds poetry in imperfection, chronicling emotional turbulence through the lens of classical art and computer glitches to create an arresting portrait of modern vulnerability.

From her garden shed studio, LeCount has crafted five tracks that ping-pong between meticulous perfectionism and raw emotional outbursts. The opening title-track establishes the record’s central tension between mechanical precision and human messiness, and it’s here that LeCount’s DIY approach pays its richest dividends – every imperfection feels entirely necessary.

‘Marble Arch’ is next, its orchestral gravitas exploring the cold distance of trying to maintain a flawless facade. The contrast with ‘Silver Spoon’ is stark – a track born in a single day’s creative fever, its jealousy and class consciousness spilling out in waves of synthesised catharsis.

The EP walks a tightrope between baroque-pop grandeur and bedroom electronic intimacy. LeCount’s background – from childhood busking to talent show pressure to lockdown isolation – bleeds into every careful arrangement. ‘Godspeed’ exemplifies this best, its intricate layers building to emotional peaks while maintaining an almost classical sense of composition.

Leaning into the digital/divine dichotomy makes for some striking moments. With the raw confessional tone of ‘Sweet Fruit’, LeCount’s voice carries with disarming directness, cutting through the electronic textures like sunlight through stained glass.

‘I Am Digital, I Am Divine’ announces a promising new voice in alternative pop, one unafraid to let her garden shed experiments bloom.
