The Amazons are teasing their fourth studio album ’21st Century Fiction’, set for release on 9th May, with new single ‘Night After Night’ and details of a UK headline tour.
The track follows their recent collaboration with Royal Blood on ‘My Blood’ and previous single ‘Love is a Dog From Hell’. Drawing inspiration from Jumbo’s Clown Room in Hollywood, a venue frequented by David Lynch and Charles Bukowski, the song explores themes of routine and habit.
“What interested us were the guys who’d go there all the time, who became part of the furniture, at the bar night after night compelled to be there, unable to break out,” explains lead singer Matt Thomson. “It’s easy to judge, but we all have our habits, some more visible than others. It’s only when we try to hop the fence, that we realise how much of a hold they have over us.”
