The Maccabees have booked their first UK and Ireland tour in nine years

The Maccabees have announced their first UK and Ireland headline tour in nine years, following news of their reformation to headline London’s All Points East festival this summer.

The band are set to perform shows in Dublin, Glasgow and Manchester this August, alongside their previously announced All Points East appearance. Tickets will be available from 9am BST on 11th April, with a pre-sale beginning at 9am BST on 9th April.

Guitarist Felix White says, “We can’t wait to be The Maccabees again! These shows will be really magical, playing the songs that form such a part of our collective lives, in the UK & Ireland in the lead up to All Points East Festival. It’s something we genuinely didn’t think would happen again and are really determined to make special now that it is. We’ll see you there.”

The reunion stems from a moment at guitarist Hugo White’s wedding in February 2020, where the band briefly reconvened to perform ‘Pelican’. The performance marked their first time together since their farewell shows at Alexandra Palace, leading to a gradual rekindling of relationships between the bandmates.

The Maccabees – comprising lead singer Orlando Weeks, guitarists Felix and Hugo White, bassist Rupert Jarvis and drummer Sam Doyle – released four studio albums during their initial run, including their debut ‘Colour It In’ and their first number one record ‘Marks To Prove It’. Their achievements include a Mercury Prize nomination for ‘Given To The Wild’, an Ivor Novello award for Best Contemporary Song for ‘Pelican’, and Best British Band at the NME Awards in 2016.
