James Marriott visits a dodgy dentist in his new video for ‘Toothache’

James Marriott has shared new single ‘Toothache’, the latest preview of his upcoming second album ‘Don’t Tell The Dog’.

The Brighton artist’s new track follows previous single ‘I Don’t Want To Live Like This’, which topped the Official Singles Downloads Chart, and his recent Dork cover too.

“‘Toothache’ is probably the most damning song I’ve written about myself,” Marriott explains. “It talks pretty openly about how I didn’t deal with a dental hygiene problem I had for multiple years. My lack of desire to do anything about it and my apathy towards pain were a result of things that happened to me in childhood.”

The track was written and produced by Marriott alongside live guitarist Jono Suter and Finnish duo Aleksi Kiiskinen and Eeli Savloainen, with additional writing credits from band members Louis Salanson, Samuel Horsley and Matt Gavin. The accompanying video, directed by YouTuber Pinely (Orr Piamenta), follows Marriott’s visit to a questionable budget dentist.
