Shamir has announced ‘Ten’, stated as his final album, set for release this spring via Kill Rock Stars.
The record is set to feature a collection of songs written by close collaborators, unused demos, and previously discarded tracks that have been reimagined. The album’s first single, ‘Neverwannago’, written by Portland musician Andrew Harmon, arrives alongside a Matthew Ober-directed video featuring August Nandé.
Since releasing debut studio album ‘Ratchet’ in 2015, Shamir has consistently evolved their musical direction, describing his approach as an “anti-career”. His 2017 releases, ‘Hope’ and ‘Revelations’, were both recorded directly to four-track, while his 2020 self-titled album explored folk, country, indie-rock, and dance-pop. His most recent works include ‘Heterosexuality’ and ‘Homo Anxietatem’, released in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
