Radiohead have shared a playlist of ‘The Bends’ B-sides to mark the album’s 30th anniversary

Radiohead have shared a playlist featuring B-sides and remixes from ‘The Bends’ to mark the album’s 30th anniversary.

The band’s second album, produced by John Leckie, was their first collaboration with Nigel Godrich, who has since worked on every subsequent Radiohead album. The playlist includes B-sides such as ‘India Rubber’, ‘How Can You Be Sure?’, ‘Bishop’s Robes’, and ‘Talk Show Host’ – the latter featuring in Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 film Romeo + Juliet.

The playlist release follows the band sharing previously unseen footage of Thom Yorke performing solo at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern on 28th March 1995. The 25-minute video features acoustic renditions of ‘(Nice Dream)’, ‘High and Dry’, ‘Street Spirit (Fade Out)’, ‘Fake Plastic Trees’, and ‘Thinking About You’.

Radiohead have also recently established a new limited liability partnership named RHEUK25, registered on 10th March. All five members – Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, and Philip Selway – are listed as officers. The band have previously used similar LLPs before announcing new albums, tours, or reissues.

When asked about fan speculation regarding the band’s future, Yorke stated, “I am not aware of it and don’t really give a flying fuck. No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
