Rihanna is rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury 2025, following reports of planned London stadium shows scheduled for the days following the festival.
The ‘Umbrella’ singer is reportedly planning a six-night residency at London Stadium, with the first date set for 4th July, five days after Glastonbury concludes. The Telegraph reports that according to a senior concert industry source, the shows are at an advanced planning stage, with announcements expected in the coming weeks.
The timing is particularly notable as Glastonbury has currently only confirmed Neil Young as a headliner for 2025. Rihanna has never performed at Worthy Farm, and has not toured since the ‘ANTI’ World Tour, which ran from March to November 2016. Her last studio album, ‘ANTI’, was released in January 2016.
Speaking about new music last summer, Rihanna said: “I’m rediscovering things and I’m prepared to go back in the studio. So, I’m now prepared. I’m gonna start. So, you know, give me a second. Yes, I’m starting over, but I don’t wanna neglect the songs that I have. I wanna listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective, and then see what still applies and what I’m still in love with.”
However, at a Fenty Beauty product launch in November, she stated: “Music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me.”
Her most recent performance was a private show in India last year, following her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show appearance. Her last recorded music was ‘Lift Me Up’ for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022.
Currently confirmed for Glastonbury 2025 are Neil Young as a headliner, Rod Stewart in the Sunday afternoon slot, and Nile Rodgers & Chic.
