IDER have released their third album ‘Late To The World’ alongside new focus track ‘Killing The Game’ via Nettwerk.
The album, produced by Dann Hume at his church-cum-studio during summer and autumn 2023, follows previous singles ‘Know How It Hurts’, ‘Unlearn’, ‘Girl’, ‘You Don’t Know How To Drive’ and ‘Attachment Theory’. The record marks a development in the duo’s sound, incorporating live drums for the first time on record, while blending dejected British new wave, electro-pop and alt rock influences.
‘Late To The World’ explores themes of self-discovery and coming of age, with its twelve tracks examining societal pressures and personal growth. The album’s focus track, ‘Killing The Game’, addresses the experience of social anxiety and feeling left behind.
“Killing The Game is for the socially anxious. Set at a party, watching people enjoy themselves whilst you feel like you’re on the outside – the perception that everyone is ‘killing the game’ whilst you are being left behind,” the band say.
