Fontaines D.C. are set to release their new single ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’ at midnight (21st February), following a series of teasers shared across their social media.
The Dublin band previewed the track yesterday, sharing a snippet that features frontman Grian Chatten’s vocals over acoustic guitars and an upbeat melody. The lyrics include: “It’s amazing To be young / Sometimes I wake up and it’s dark / Perform the ritual that puts me in the part.”
The new single follows their fourth album ‘Romance’. Released last summer, ‘Romance’ marked the band’s first release through XL Recordings and was produced by James Ford.
Fontaines D.C. shared news of the single alongside artwork depicting a vinyl record sleeve with a faded, multi-colour pattern. The band are currently nominated for International Group Of The Year at this year’s BRIT Awards, alongside Amyl And The Sniffers, Confidence Man, Future and Metro Boomin, and Linkin Park.
The band are embarking on a series of international live dates, beginning with shows across Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
