Lady Gaga teases new album ‘Mayhem’ with cryptic website messages

Lady Gaga has unveiled an interactive preview of her upcoming seventh studio album ‘Mayhem’.

The pop star’s official website now features floating black letters against an orange backdrop, revealing potential lyrics from the forthcoming record. Visitors can interact with the display by clicking and dragging their cursor across the screen, causing random clusters of letters to form into brief, fleeting sentences including “Choke on the fame and hope it gets your high,” “I’m the perfect celebrity,” “I’ll burn a hole right through your eyes,” and “Tap on my vein suck on my blood diamond.”

‘Mayhem’ will include previously released singles ‘Abracadabra’, ‘Disease’, and ‘Die With a Smile’, her collaboration with Bruno Mars. The album follows ‘Harlequin’, her companion project for the film Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she stars as Harley Quinn.

“It leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt,” Gaga says of the new record. “And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life.”

‘Mayhem’ is set for release on 7th March.
