The team behind London nightclubs Drumsheds and Printworks are set to open a new 2,000-capacity venue in South London.
Corner Corner will be located at the site of a shopping centre in Surrey Quays, Rotherhithe. The venue received approval from Southwark Council’s planning committee on 5th February, following plans submitted by property developers British Land in partnership with Broadwick.
The 50,000-square-foot space, which overlooks Canada Dock, will function as a cultural hub featuring collaborative workspaces, live music, and food outlets. The development will also house what is being described as London’s largest indoor urban vertical farm, with produce being used throughout the venue’s food offerings.
British Land have confirmed that while the venue has approval to open until 3am at weekends subject to licensing permission, they do not intend to host regular late-night events. The space will accommodate both live music performances and ticketed DJ events.
The announcement follows recent developments for the team’s other venues. Drumsheds has retained its licence following a review, though new safety measures are being implemented. Meanwhile, Printworks, which closed in May last year, has received planning consent for redevelopment after initial plans to convert it into office space.
