David Byrne and Robyn perform surprise duet at SNL 50th anniversary concert

David Byrne and Robyn have performed a surprise duet of ‘Dancing On My Own’ at Saturday Night Live’s SNL 50: The Homecoming concert.

The performance took place at the special event on 14th February, which celebrated SNL’s 50th anniversary. The concert, hosted by SNL alumnus Jimmy Fallon and executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Mark Ronson, featured an array of musical performances.

Robyn, who first appeared on SNL in 2011, began performing her 2010 track ‘Dancing On My Own’ solo before Byrne joined her for the second verse. Both artists wore matching dark khaki suits and wireless microphones for the performance. The pair followed this with a rendition of Talking Heads’ ‘This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)’.

The concert featured performances from numerous artists including Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Jack White, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus. The surviving members of Nirvana – Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear – also reunited to perform ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ with Post Malone on vocals.

The celebrations are set to continue with the SNL 50 Anniversary Special on 16th February, featuring Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, and Paul Simon among the announced guests.
