Bon Iver has announced his fifth studio album ‘SABLE, fABLE’, alongside sharing new single ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love’.
The Justin Vernon-led project’s forthcoming record, which follows 2019’s ‘i, i’, will include the three tracks from last year’s ‘SABLE’ EP – ‘Things Behind Things Behind Things’, ‘S P E Y S I D E’ and ‘Awards Season’ – as its opening songs.
Vernon has collaborated with filmmaker John Wilson on the visuals for ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love’. “The idea that happiness and joy are the highest form and the true buoyancy of survival, and even taking yourself less seriously could heal the world,” Vernon says of the track.
“I knew what kind of record I wanted to make the day we made ‘Everything Is Peaceful Love’,” he continues. “I always knew that would be the feeling I wanted to share first. I wanted the video to just be people smiling uncontainably. Luckily, Eric Timothy Carlson suggested getting in touch with Wilson. Simply the most poignant and hilarious program in all of Television. We were extremely fortunate that John liked the idea. He went out, shot a bunch of fun stuff, and edited it all to the song.”
The new album, produced by Vernon and Jim-E Stack, was primarily recorded at Vernon’s April Base studio in Wisconsin. The record features collaborations with Danielle Haim on ‘If Only I Could Wait’, while Dijon and Flock Of Dimes appear on ‘Day One’.
