Head Automatica have returned with sultry new single ‘Annulment’ – their second in 18 years

Head Automatica have returned with new single ‘Annulment’, marking only their second release in 18 years.

The track follows the band’s previous releases ‘Decadence’ from 2004 and ‘Popaganda’ from 2006, with the former produced by Dan the Automator.

“The song ‘Annulment’ is Head Automatica’s sound but pushed forward a bit in terms of the mood and production,” explains singer Daryl Palumbo. “We wanted to maintain all of the colorful production with intricate electronic and sample-based elements while allowing more space for the overall song’s feeling and dynamics to stand out. Ensuring the mood of the track carries it while still remaining body-moving is the delicate balance within ‘Annulment.’”

The band’s current lineup features Palumbo on vocals, Richard Flesh on bass, Craig Bonich on guitar, Chad Hasty on drums, with Eric Mitchell serving as engineer.

Their 2004 track ‘Beating Heart Baby’ has been covered by Waterparks and was cited by Paramore’s Hayley Williams as one of her favourite songs.
