Kelela has released ‘In The Blue Light’, a new album featuring reimagined versions of songs from across her discography.
The 12-track collection stems from her two-day residency at The Blue Note in May 2024, presenting jazz and acoustic interpretations of material from her previous releases ‘Cut 4 Me’, ‘Hallucinogen’, ‘Take Me Apart’, and ‘Raven’.
The album will be accompanied by a documentary film chronicling the residency and recording process, set for release on 18th February.
The release follows Kelela’s 2023 album ‘Raven’ and its companion piece ‘RAVE:N, The Remixes’, which arrived in early 2024. During this period, she performed on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, recorded an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and completed several headline tours.
