Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show has become the most-watched halftime performance in history, with 133.5 million viewers tuning in to the Apple Music presentation.
The viewership figures, announced by Roc Nation, Apple Music and the NFL, surpassed the game itself, which averaged 126 million viewers. The performance also exceeded Michael Jackson’s 1993 show, which drew 133.4 million viewers, and last year’s headliner Usher, who attracted 123.4 million viewers.
Lamar made history as the first solo rapper to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show. His set featured material from his 2024 album ‘GNX’, including ‘Squabble Up’, ‘Peekaboo’, and ‘Luther’, the latter performed with special guest SZA. The performance also included his track ‘Not Like Us’. Additional guests included Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard.
The performance took place during the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, with the Eagles winning 40-22. Lamar and SZA are set to embark on their Grand National Tour, with dates across the UK and Europe scheduled for July.
