London newcomers Y have shared a video for their chaotic single ‘Why’

London newcomers Y have shared a video for their latest single ‘Why’.

The band are signed to Hideous Mink Records and SO Recordings, and have recently announced their debut EP ‘Y’, due 4th April.

Speaking ahead of their video release, the band revealed: “It explores heroism and fear in the face of the question. A computerised dream world with a nagging sense of reality. We wanted to create a video where it feels like the curtain will be dropped at any moment; With dodgy green screen layers that barely hold on. The band take on roles of cartoon-like characters that pass through a void, take on mutant forms and spar with the chaos around them.”

Y consists of Adam Brennan on vocals and guitar, Sophie Coppin handling vocals and synth, Dan GB on bass, Fells on drums, and Harry Mchale on saxophone. The group celebrated their single release with a show at The Windmill, Brixton, ahead of their upcoming tour dates.
