Alien Chicks announce ‘Forbidden Fruit’ EP, share new single ‘Donkeyhead’

Alien Chicks have announced their second EP ‘Forbidden Fruit’, set for release on 9th May via Hideous Mink Records and SO Recordings, alongside sharing new single ‘Donkeyhead’.

The London post-punk trio’s latest release follows their recent single ‘Babe’. The new EP contains six tracks, including both recent singles alongside ‘Dairylea’, ‘Mr Muscle’, ‘I’ve Become A Palm Tree’ and ‘Say Fish’.

The origins of their latest single “Part of ‘Donkeyhead’ was a fever dream, in which Josef gave into the (imagined) circumstance in which someone would break into the house and shoot him in the head. Not paranoid, he seemed to be at peace with this situation. It was a song we played live when we first started as a band but it was forgotten about for a while. We recently merged it with another unfinished song (originally titled “no bins”), the chorus of which poked fun at the fact that there seem to be no bins in north London anywhere! As many of our songs do, Donkeyhead overall has a driving, punky energy to it whilst also containing underlying melodic jazzy sections. It will be the first song on the new EP!”

The band have performed multiple sold-out London shows, including the Moth Club last summer, and have shared stages with English Teacher, Fat Dog, Lambrini Girls, and Warmduscher.
