Bloc Party’s beach party just got even more indie-licious

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 3:16 PM BY ANDREW WESCOTT

Bloc Party have just announced they’re bringing basically every other band in the UK to their ‘On The Beach’ show in Brighton this summer, with Everything Everything, English Teacher, and Mystery Jets leading a stellar supporting cast for their ‘Silent Alarm’ 20th anniversary celebrations.

The indie icons will be performing their seminal debut album in full, along with what they’re calling their “greatest hits”. The seaside spectacular is set for this summer, with Liz Lawrence, Feet, and Martial Arts rounding out an absolutely stacked bill. But that’s not all – if you can’t make it to Brighton, Kele and co. will be bringing their ‘Silent Alarm’ party to Live At Leeds: In The Park in May, plus shows in Manchester and Bristol, before hitting Reading & Leeds 2025 and Victorious Festival. Remaining tickets for the Brighton show are available now.

Linkin Park strip it back with surprise a cappella album announcement

UPDATED: 1:37 PM BY ANDREW WESCOTT

Just when you thought Linkin Park’s ‘From Zero’ was done, the nu-metal legends have decided to give us the stripped-back version absolutely nobody saw coming. The band have announced ‘From Zero – A Cappellas’, a completely vocals-only take on their chart-topping comeback album featuring new vocalist Emily Armstrong’s powerful pipes front and centre.

The surprise release is set to drop tomorrow (Friday, 24th January), giving fans barely 24 hours to prepare their ears for what promises to be a fascinating new take on tracks like ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ and ‘The Emptiness Machine’. It follows the original album’s impressive run at the top of charts across ten countries, including right here in the UK.

Housewife is ready to be the main character with new EP announcement

UPDATED: 10:52 AM BY ANDREW WESCOTT

Housewife (aka Brighid Fry) is serving up a proper treat with the announcement of new EP ‘Girl Of The Hour’ – and there’s a new single ‘Work Song’ to celebrate.

The six-track EP is landing on 7th March via Submarine Cat Records, following up on 2022’s ‘You’ll Be Forgiven’. Alongside ‘Work Song’, the collection features previous singles ‘I Lied’, ‘Wasn’t You’, ‘Life of the Party’ and ‘Divorce’, plus a new track called ‘Matilda’.

Ellie Dixon turns teenage FOMO into a proper banger on new track ‘Guts

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 10:52 AM BY LUCY PHILLIPS

Rising star Ellie Dixon has dropped the anxiety anthem we never knew we needed with her new single ‘Guts’. The self-produced track, which got the fancy Abbey Road treatment for mastering, is a genre-bending triumph that she’s dubbed a “samba-rock-dnb-pop fusion”.

The track follows up her winter release ‘Renaissance’, marking a heavier direction for the bedroom pop pioneer, proving that sometimes the best parties are the ones you throw for yourself – especially when they’re produced this well.

Chung Ha is ready to spill the tea on her next chapter

UPDATED: 9:12 AM BY LUCY PHILLIPS

K-pop powerhouse Chung Ha is properly back in business, announcing her new mini-album ‘Alivio’ with the kind of moody aesthetic that screams “serious artist evolution incoming.” She’s dropped a properly dramatic mood sampler that sees her getting philosophical on a pile of bricks (as you do), delivering some deep thoughts about breaking through barriers and embracing new beginnings.

‘Alivio’ is set to drop on February 12th at 6pm KST, marking Chung Ha’s first proper collection since 2022’s ‘Bare & Rare’.
