Nova Twins are back to smash your brain into tiny little pieces

KEY UPDATE

UPDATED: 11:11 AM BY DAN HARRISON

Nova Twins have kicked down the door to 2025 with their explosive new single ‘Monsters’, and it’s an absolute face-melter. The track, which marks the start of a thrilling new era for Amy Love and Georgia South, sees the pair linking up with super-producer Rich Costey for a raw and honest exploration of mental health that hits harder than a midnight doom-scroll.

The band aren’t just dropping tracks though – they’re also doing their bit for a good cause, announcing they’ll be bringing their signature chaos to London’s Omeara on 24th February as part of BRITs Week in aid of War Child. Expect circle pits, catharsis, and the kind of energy that could power a small town. Nova Twins remain, as ever, absolutely unstoppable.

Chris Martin addresses British colonialism during Mumbai Coldplay show

UPDATED: 9:22 AM BY ANDREW WESCOTT

During Coldplay’s massive show at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, Chris Martin took a moment to acknowledge Britain’s colonial history in India, thanking the 75,000-strong crowd for “forgiving us for all of the bad things Great Britain has done.” The comments, which have since circulated widely on social media, came as part of the band’s first Indian performance since their 2016 Global Citizen Festival appearance, drawing mixed reactions from fans online.

The Music Of The Spheres world tour continues its Asian leg with multiple nights in Hong Kong and Seoul this April, while fans across India can catch their upcoming Republic Day show at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium via Disney+ Hotstar on January 26th. The stream promises exclusive behind-the-scenes content, giving everyone a chance to experience what’s shaping up to be one of 2024’s most talked-about tours.

Musicians unite in support of trans rights following Trump policy announcement

UPDATED: 9:20 AM BY ANDREW WESCOTT

Artists including Ariana Grande and Aurora have spoken out against newly-announced US policy changes affecting the LGBTQIA+ community. Following Donald Trump’s inauguration speech declaring that the US government would only recognise two sexes, multiple figures from across the music world have taken to social media to voice their opposition, with Grande sharing a poignant message affirming that “queer and trans people were here before Donald Trump and will continue to be here after he’s dead.”

Norwegian art-pop visionary Aurora offered heartfelt support to her trans followers in the US, writing “The right to be seen and heard is truly important. And the right to be who we truly are, is vital,” while RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage declared “YOU WILL NOT ERASE MY CHILD.” The proposed executive order would affect federal workplace policies regarding pronouns and end funding for diversity initiatives.
