Belfast band Chalk have released their brooding new single ‘Afraid’

Belfast trio Chalk have shared their new single ‘Afraid’, released via Nice Swan Records.

The track arrives as the second preview of their upcoming EP ‘Conditions III’, set to arrive on 21st February through Nice Swan Records.

‘Afraid’ was produced by Chris Ryan (NewDad, Enola Gay, Just Mustard) and Ross Cullen, and follows an acclaimed tour support run with IDLES. The EP was recorded in remote northern Iceland, marking the conclusion of the trilogy that launched their career.

“‘Afraid’ captures the raw fear and exhilaration of stepping into the unknown, a reminder that growth only happens when you leave your comfort zone. It’s a reflection on the strength it takes to move forward,” the band explain.

The group, comprising Ross Cullen (Vocals), Benedict Goddard (Guitar, Synth), and Luke Niblock (Drums), have previously won ‘Best Live Act’ at the NI Music Prize.
