Dublin band Hotgirl announce their ‘Blast Off’ EP with new single ‘On The Brink’

Dublin’s Hotgirl have announced their new EP ‘Blast Off’, set for release via Cartoon Records on 10th April. The band have also shared their latest single ‘On The Brink’.

The quartet, comprising vocalist and guitarist Ashley Abbedeen, lead guitarist Sophie Boxwell, bassist Jake Hurley, and drummer Nick Stanley, have been building momentum following support slots with Sprints, Pillow Queens, Fat Dog and Cliffords. The upcoming EP was produced by Neil Kennedy, known for his work with Milk Teeth and Creeper.

Speaking about the new single, Abbedeen says: “‘On The Brink’ talks about my sadness, my insecurities and my past trauma in a way I’ve never felt able to speak about. I try to remind myself though that I am not special and everyone goes through this sadness and loneliness and we can find comfort in each other, by sharing that. I’m just trying to forget how shitty I’ve felt about myself for so long and embrace a new, happier me.”
