Matilda Mann has shared new single ‘Just Because’, taken from her upcoming debut album ‘Roxwell’, which arrives on 28th February via 7476.
The track was co-produced by Jonah Summerfiled. “‘Just Because’ was the song that felt like it took forever to write,” Mann explains. “Jonah and I had written a verse and chorus that felt new and fresh for us—kinda fun and sassy, haha—but something about it didn’t feel complete.
“We left it alone for about a year, and then one day, we decided to dedicate just 10 minutes to see if we could naturally find something. Almost immediately, we wrote the pre-chorus, which felt like the perfect missing piece. Just because someone thinks it’s love doesn’t mean it was.”
Speaking about the album, Mann shares: “This is my debut album. Every song feels like a part of me, and I’m so, so excited that it’s finally coming out. It explores various types of love, the experience of growing up and reflecting on the past, the struggle of not being able to give someone your all, getting stuck in the past, and accepting what you can’t change.”
The singer-songwriter has recently supported Wallows at Alexandra Palace and collaborated with Bombay Bicycle Club on their single ‘Fantasneeze’.
