ALT BLK ERA have dropped their rock and drum & bass crossover track, ‘Run Rabbit’

ALT BLK ERA have released new single ‘Run Rabbit’, the final track to be shared ahead of their debut album ‘Rave Immortal’, set for release via Earache Records.

The rock and drum & bass crossover track arrives alongside a new video, with vocalist Nyrobi explaining the inspiration behind the song: “‘Run Rabbit’ is about the consequence of causing complete havoc on a night out and having to make a run for it after upsetting the neighbours with our loud music. Again it follows the story of my disability, where, after being limited for so many years I just wanted to feel the adrenaline rush. It captures the feeling of the chase and how being close to danger is another way we get to feel alive”.

The duo’s upcoming album explores themes of diversity, inclusion, and Nyrobi’s experience with chronic illness. “You might not notice on a first listen that this album is about my hidden disability that is a result of chronic illness that took hold during my teens and left me bed-ridden for years,” she shares. “I take the listener through the shadows and share the pain of abandonment I felt, and the solace that I found in my younger sister’s unwavering support.”

Chaya adds: “This album starts as a deeply personal story of the physical and emotional pain that my sister went through when she first became ill. I was about twelve at that time. It was during the pandemic so it was a time of worry and isolation for me also but as Nyrobi slowly became more able to communicate, we spent every minute that she was awake together.”
