Heartworms pays homage to her love of military aircraft with single ‘Extraordinary Wings’

Heartworms has shared new single ‘Extraordinary Wings’, taken from their upcoming debut album ‘Glutton For Punishment’, set for release via Speedy Wunderground on 7th February.

The track arrives with a video directed by Gilbert Trejo, paying homage to Heartworms’ interest in military aircraft.

The nine-track album, produced by Dan Carey, draws influence from various musical sources. “With my EP, people kind of pigeonholed me into post-punk,” Jojo Orme explains. “I was like, ‘Cool, I can do that, but I can also do way more’ – I can do post-punk, but I can also be poppy and catchy, and this album represents that. I think people might be surprised when they hear it.”

The album follows their 2023 EP ‘A Comforting Notion’, with Orme, who volunteers at The Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon, incorporating themes of military history alongside personal narratives about childhood and family relationships.
