Tom Rasmussen and Self Esteem have teamed up for new single ‘Rescue Me’

Tom Rasmussen has shared a new single ‘Rescue Me’, featuring Self Esteem. The track is taken from Tom’s new album ‘Live Wire’, which is out now via Globe Town Records.

The collaboration explores themes of friendship in the modern world, accompanied by a video directed by Vic Lentaigne. It follows Rasmussen’s previous collaboration with Romy on the track ‘Never Look Back’.

“‘Rescue Me’ is a song about friendships changing. About, perhaps, both of you judging the decisions the other has made in their life. In the end maybe we all need a little rescuing from the structures that seem to overtake our lives when we aren’t looking — capitalism, heteronormativity, spin class,” Rasmussen explains. “Throwback to my indie days with the prod — big drums, big guitar, big feelings. With the best of them all Self Esteem, someone who feels these things like I do. Couldn’t be luckier that she agreed to join in. And that Vic and Milo wanted to come in and make our video: our strange relationship at the end of the world.”

Self Esteem adds: “As a massive fan it was an honour to be asked to feature on this beautiful song. I feel very connected to Tom, their music and vision, and it was honestly competition winning to be involved. I hope you enjoy this CCTV footage of us spending time together for the video.”
