From Sampha to Florence Welch, Everything Is Recorded assembles an all-star cast for ‘Temporary’

Everything Is Recorded have announced their third studio album ‘Temporary’, set for release via XL Recordings.

The collaborative music project, led by producer Richard Russell, features an extensive list of contributors including Sampha, Bill Callahan, Noah Cyrus, Florence Welch, Maddy Prior, Berwyn, Alabaster Deplume, Jah Wobble, Yazz Ahmed, Laura Groves, Kamasi Washington, Rickey Washington, Roses Gabor, Jack Peňate, Samantha Morton, Clari Freeman-Taylor and Nourished By Time.

The album was recorded primarily at Russell’s west London Copper House studio, with additional sessions taking place in Tottenham, Cumbria, Dorset, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The project marks a shift in Russell’s musical approach, with a greater emphasis on melody over rhythm, and explores themes of grief and loss.

‘I work hard to be mortal’, with Russell noting that ‘making the album was joyous, a way of hallowing life’.

Everything Is Recorded have also shared new single ‘Losing You’, featuring vocals from Sampha and Laura Groves, alongside contributions from Yazz Ahmed and Jah Wobble. The track follows previous single ‘Porcupine Tattoo’, which saw Noah Cyrus and Bill Callahan collaborate for the first time.

The release follows Russell’s recent work producing tracks for Peter Gabriel’s ‘i/o’ album and Mary In The Junkyard’s debut EP ‘this old house’, as well as his collaboration with Samantha Morton on their album ‘Daffodils & Dirt’. Russell has also recently released four album-length pieces via Soundcloud and Bandcamp: ‘Summer Solstice’, ‘Autumn Equinox’, ‘Winter Solstice’ and ‘Spring Equinox’.
