SOPHIE’s final full-length claims Rough Trade’s top 100 albums of 2024 crown

Rough Trade have revealed their top 100 albums of 2024, with SOPHIE’s posthumous self-titled album taking the number one spot.

To mark the announcement, the indie retailer is offering exclusive vinyl pressings for the top 20 albums on their list. The collection includes SOPHIE’s first-ever vinyl pressing of ‘Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides Non-Stop Remix Album’ on red vinyl, alongside the self-titled record on silver vinyl.

Toby L, co-founder of Transgressive Records, says: “It’s been the greatest of honors for Transgressive to be involved with what we consider to be a truly timeless, transcendent and landmark album. Thank you, Rough Trade; we are forever grateful for all of your support.”

The exclusive releases include English Teacher’s Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘This Could Be Texas’ on galaxy gold and milky white vinyl, accompanied by their ‘Live From Maida Vale EP’ on chalk white 10″ vinyl. Laura Marling’s ‘Patterns in Repeat’ comes alongside ‘Laura Sings Raffi’, while The Smile are offering a three-track live 12″ designed to house both their 2024 albums ‘Wall of Eyes’ and ‘Cutouts’.

Other notable releases include The Last Dinner Party’s ‘Prelude to Ecstasy’ with a new mirrorboard sleeve, Idles’ Glastonbury performance on 12″, and a limited run of 1,000 copies of Amyl and the Sniffers’ live album recorded at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre. Yard Act have recorded an exclusive covers EP at Leeds’ Nave Recording Studio, while Clairo’s ‘Charm’ receives a coral pink vinyl pressing limited to 750 copies.
